Giusy Capasso (PhD 2025, University of Padua, Italy) is a bioarchaeologist and currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at BIOANTH laboratory.
Her research focuses on reconstructing human mobility and dietary habits in past societies through biogeochemical and palaeoproteomic analyses. During her PhD, she investigated social hierarchisation and mobility dynamics in Iron Age Veneto through multi-isotope and enamel peptide analyses of human skeletal remains from the CUS-Piovego necropolis in Padua, Italy (6th–4th century BCE). She also examines the impact of the Neolithic transition on past populations in prehistoric Sudan. Giusy has conducted bioarchaeological fieldwork and research in Italy, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, serving as a bioarchaeologist supervisor in several archaeological missions.
